Great prices! Good food! Awesome place for meeting friends, or just people watching. It has that mom & pop feel and I like places like that!

We had a coupon to get 1 free ramen if you buy 1 ramen at regular price, but the cashier said it expired in March (not printed anywhere on the coupon though).The edamame I order was wilted and cold from the fridge. Maybe certain Japanese restaurants serve cold edamame? I'm no expert on the matter. Lastly, the teriyaki chicken was subpar.Prices were fair and the shaved ice looked good!

Exceptional spot to have some food when in a rush. The service is swift, prices are affordable, excellent mood. Highly recommended

Used to be a great value, but recently the cost of a meal has gone up substantially. Food is still good, but definitely not a place to go when the wallet is thin.

The food is good however I lost my appetite when I was dining in with coworkers and saw cockroach's crawling on the wall. I'll never go back. If that's what you see while dining can you imagine what's in the kitchen and in the walls. Yuk!

The food is just okay. But the prices are good for the portions you get. It’s a go to place for when you’re at a lost for what you’re hungry for...like a back up to a first choice.

The food here is average as far as Hawaiian food goes. You can get a better chicken bowl at Flame Broiler and better Hawaiian at L&L or The Loft. The one thing they served that was great and I would specifically go there for were their California rolls..........and they recently decided to take that off the menu. I no longer have a reason to eat at Island Grill.

Lunch special island fried chicken is hard to beat. Always quick and friendly.

They took off the to best things in their menu which were the noodles and the California rolls

Great food but a little pricey for chicken and rice

One of my favorite places for teriyaki chicken, which is always grilled to perfection - flavorful and tender. I also love their Chinese Chicken salad - always buy extra for lunches.This is a clean but glamour free environment - great local spot for lunch or dinner.

I haden't been in a couple years, but this place used to be my favorite Hawaiian food restaurant. Not sure if ownership or management changed, but the food is no where near as good as it once was. When I lived nearby I went at least once a week. I'll never go again. The service was great, but the food? Go to any teriyaki bowl joint and you'll get better food. This is the first or second time in many reviews I've given one star. Sad, it used to be so good.

So sad. Just went to find out there's no noodles. Like why would they do that. I wonder how many customers they've lost due to the changes.

Long time favorite in Los Alamitos. Their Low Carb plates are very popular. But, nearly everything on the menu is great. Huge portions!

Used to love this place I don't know why they had to change the menu, makes me very sad, used to have a meal that was chicken and beef teriyaki with rice and Noodles. Foods still good but it's just not the same anymore

Had a very good experience in this spot with my kids. The food comes out quickly and the service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.

I wish the old menu and prices would come back... They have gone through several menu and price changes in the past 2-3 years. You used to be able to get a plate of chicken and rice with their Chinese chicken salad with a drink (their old #8) for less than $8... Nowadays that same meal will cost almost $10. However, for what it is, it's good food and I've been eating from here off and on for probably 8 years.

Only 1 stars since they changed their menu. Very sad, they no longer have Chow mein Noddles or California rolls!!! Also, quality of food went way down. Beef and chicken plates were full of fat. Feel sorry for the employees their listening to all the customer complaints and not being able to do anything about it. People were walking out when they saw the changes! Bad call to change the menu. Been coming here for years but no more. :(. The new owner needs to start reading the reviews and change things back or this place is going to go out of business. Over 20 bad reviews on Yelp since April 1 menu change.

Love the love- carb plate with teriyaki chicken and perfectly steamed veggies.

Ordered the teriyaki chic combo, good. But they must of added a can of veg-all to the macaroni salad. Personally, I don't like vegetables added! Parking always tough but the food has always been worth the wait for (parking).

Terrible that i cannot get through with phone number provided. it is a constant busy signal. all bad because i needed to order for our company monthly luncheon for employees.

I enjoyed their poke bowl and my family enjoyed the saimin and low carb katsu plate. This place offers generous serving sizes and a very reasonable price. They tend to be heavy on the carrots when you order with mixed veggies. Most plates and bowls come with a drink.

This place used to be one of my favorite restaurants but recently they have made some changes with the food that I don't like. The service has definitely gone down as well. I do not plan to go back. Their shaved ice with ice cream is super good though.

The new menu doesn't have the same items as the old menu had. They no longer have California Rolls or the chicken slaw.The new menu items do taste good, but not quite worth the raised prices. It's especially not worth it considering the new portion sizes.

I have been going here for over 10 years and used to love this place. I get that menus change but I really felt that their change is a step back in the wrong direction.I loved the noodles and veggies that they used to put under the meat and the replaced pickled veggies and potato salad really don't compare. The new sides are cold and just don't match the flavor of dish as well.The teriyaki chicken is still good but I always eat here with a tinge of disappointment as the rest of the menu just isn't as good as it used to be.

Tried the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was a good portion for lunch. The menu changed from what it was a year ago. Price have gone up a little but still good. Also try the salmon teriyaki.

Please don't go here. This place is awful. The worst, bland beef curry i ever had. Where's the beef? Or anything? If you only have an hour for lunch please don't waste your time there.

I meet friends in this place from time to time! This is my favorite place to have a bite. I go there routinely. The food is very good, the staff members are friendly and the cost is fair. I like meeting in this spot for a rich lunch.

The menu change really killed this place for me. They were so unique and the food was unlike any other. Now its like another flame broiler or any other chicken and rice place. At least bring the noodles back.

Their shaved ice is the BOMB! So delicious and a ton of flavors. You can also add condensed milk or ice cream, yum

Great Value Hawaiian Plate lunches. I've been a patron of Gasnso for several years and there Hawaiian style plate lunches are the best. I can honest recommend them highly.
